Originally designed in 1721 by famed Italian-born architect Giacomo Leoni for John Bligh, First Earl of Darnley and Lord Clifton, the mansion was formerly part of the Third Earl of Burlington’s estate before it was acquired by Charles Douglas, Third Duke of Queensberry, who christened it Queensberry House. Later, it was expanded by architect John Vary Jr. for the First Marquess of Anglesey and was renamed Uxbridge House. It spans five levels with more than 5,000 square meters of space.
