Marcus Lemonis winds down his role at company he co-founded

Lincolnshire, Ill. – After a 23-year tenure, Marcus Lemonis is officially stepping away from his leadership at Camping World.

Lemonis – who leads Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. as executive chairman and principal executive officer of – is stepping down as CEO at Camping World, a recreational vehicle dealer, effective Jan. 1, 2026. He will be succeeded by Matthew Wagner, Camping World’s current president.

Upon his retirement, Lemonis will serve as the co-founder and special advisor to the company. He is also giving up his position as chairman and a member of the board at the end of the year.

“Founding and building this company has been the greatest accomplishment of my life,” said Lemonis. “RVing continues to be the lifestyle of choice for millions of Americans, and this company was built to sit in the center of it all.”

Lemonis first got involved with – then doing business as Overstock.com Inc. – in October 2023 when he joined Overstock’s board as an independent director. Overstock had acquired the legacy Bed Bath & Beyond company’s intellectual property in July 23, the abrupt switch of its e-comm platform to Bed Bath & Beyond in August got off to a rocky start.

Things moved quickly thereafter. By November 2023, he was named co-chairman and just a few weeks later became the sole chairman of the company, which by that time had changed its corporate identity to Beyond Inc.

In February 2024, Lemonis was elevated to executive chairman of Beyond Inc. This past March, he added principal executive officer to his .

“Marcus’s vision shaped Camping World into the industry leader it is today, and we are deeply grateful for his leadership,” said Wagner.
