1. Walmart launches value soft, hard home collection - Hometrends
Bentonville, Ark. – In time for spring in the coming weeks, Walmart is rolling out its newest value home décor program dubbed Hometrends. more

New York - Target's pop-up Liberty of London store here has closed its doors halfway through what was to have been a four-day run. more

3. Big Lots announces promotions, organizational changes
Columbus, Ohio – Broad-line closeout retail chain Big Lots Inc. has promoted four top executives and made certain organizational changes to its team. more

4. BigResearch reports Walmart as top destination for linens, draperies though Target grows share
Worthington, Ohio – In the home linens and draperies category, more than one in five consumers are going to Walmart to make their purchases. But in the past year, Target was the only major chain that increased its shopper traffic for these goods, according to BigResearch’s recent executive briefing report. more

5. NRF: Snow didn’t keep shoppers from stores in February
Washington, D.C. – Even though almost every U.S. state had snow on the ground at some point in February, the National Retail Federation said unpleasant winter weather was “not enough to keep house-bound consumers from a little shopping therapy,” as the month’s favorable retail figures prove. more

6. Turner retiring from Cotton Inc.
Cary, N.C. – Long time fiber and fabric executive Dean Turner is retiring from Cotton Inc. on March 15. more

7. OW Sphinx doubles showroom in High Point
Dalton, Ga. – Area and accent rug house Sphinx by Oriental Weavers has doubled the size of its High Point showroom in time for the upcoming market event in mid April. more
