Mississauga, Ontario - Walmart Canada plans to open 35 to 40 Supercenters this year across the country, as well as a refrigerated distribution center to service these food-and-general merchandise stores. more

3. Mohawk Ind. 4Q and Yearend Tough but Exceed Expectations
Calhoun, Ga. – Despite challenged sales and earnings results for its fourth quarter and full year – a period the company called “the most difficult economic decline we have ever experienced in the flooring industry” – Mohawk Industries exceeded expectations thanks to cost-cutting efforts that included consolidating plants and reducing personnel by about 25%. more

Belton, S.C. – Loom Craft has signed a licensing agreement with Western apparel and footwear brand Stetson for a collection of home textiles. more

Cranbury, N.J. – On its rapid path of expansion, 11-year-old Chinese home textiles product manufacturer Triangle Home Fashions LLC has opened its first U.S. showroom here at 295 Fifth Avenue. more

New York – Area and accent rug and soft home goods supplier Vista Home Fashions and its parent, MMK Corp., are relocating into a new and larger showroom space here in time for the upcoming New York Home Fashions Market next month. more
