1. TJX profits soar on expanding sales
Framingham, Mass. – Buoyed by 12% comp gains, off-price titan TJX Companies reported a 10.4% rise in sales to $5.9 billion for the fourth quarter, helping to drive Q4 net profit up 57.6% to 94 cents per share from 58 cents one year ago.  more  
2. CHF to debut patented towel
New York – CHF Industries will introduce a patented towel under the One Home brand that addresses how thoroughly towels dry out of the shower, how quickly they dry on a rod, and how long they stay fresh.  more

3. Kassatex introduces coverlets, new bedding
New York – Kassatex Inc. is launching its first collection of coverlets this season. The company’s new offerings feature a 60/40 bamboo and organic cotton blend. The products will include a diamond design and coordinate with its Sienna and Bamboo bedding collections. Kassatexintroduced its first bedding collection just over a year ago.  more  
4. Orian’s “Big City” to Hit New York Market
Anderson, S.C. – Domestic area and accent rug manufacture Orian Rugs is coming to the Big Apple with its new Big City collection for the New York Fashions Market.  more  
5. 295 new tenants, showrooms shifts
New York – The Home Textiles Building, 295 Fifth Ave., is welcoming several new tenants as well as seeing some shifts within its 15 floors in time for the New York Home Fashions Market.  more  
6. Home sales falloff accelerates
Washington - Sagging sales of new single-family houses in January dropped 11.2% from December, and were down 6.1% from the January 2009 level, the Commerce Department reported today.  more
