1. Macy’s, Home Depot to make up for Martha’s lost Kmart biz
New York – Now that the Martha Stewart Everyday Program at Kmart has concluded, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia expects upcoming expansions at Macy’s and Home Depot will eventually make up for the $1 billion business it once enjoyed with the discounter. more

2. JCPenney home biz weak in 4Q
Plano, Texas – The home business at JCPenney is sputtering to life – in spots – but is not expected to catapult back to the forefront of the business this year. more

3. JCPenney outlook conservative
Plano, Texas – JCPenney today said it expects to generate earnings per share for the current fiscal year of about $1.55. That’s just off EPS of $2.57 two years ago but would represent a solid rebound from the $1.58 it posted in the recently concluded fiscal. more

4. HFI: Healy returns, Whiten joins
New York – Tom Healy has rejoined HFI as svp, a new position, and Al Whiten has joined the firm as vp, general manager. more

5. Orian hires Moller for marketing, merchandising
Anderson, S.C. – Domestic rug manufacturer Orian Rugs has appointed Mikala Moller as the company’s new director of marketing and merchandising within the sales and marketing team. more

6. HTT to debut show-within-show during market
New York – HTT is bringing together a group of international exhibitors for the Global Interiors Home Collection Show, a show-within-show concept taking place during the New York Home Fashions Market. more
