New York – While back-to-back snowstorms in the East forced many stores to close ahead of Valentine’s Day, comps rose 1.8% during the second week of February, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more

New York – Brand Matter LLC, owner of the Caribbean Joe brand has entered into an exclusive agreement with WestPoint Home for the brand’s home textiles.  more  
5. Simomax coming to market with new certification
Houston – Memory foam bedding producer Sinomax USA has taken a New York showroom at 295 Fifth Ave. and will be open in time for the New York Home Fashions Market next month.  more  
6. Hallmart Collectibles opens new showroom
New York – Hallmart Collectibles will debut its new showroom in 7 West 34th St. building in March during the New York Home Fashions Market.  more  
7. Duckwall-ALCO Closes on a $120 million four-year revolving credit facility
Abilene, Kan. – Regional discount chain Duckwall-ALCO Stores Inc. has closed on a new $120 million four-year revolving credit facility with Bank of America N.A. and Wells Fargo Retail Finance LLC.  more
