1. Comps slow in second week of January
New York – Same-store sales rose 0.9% in the week ended Jan. 16 after climbing 1.4% a week earlier, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more  
2. Shaw Living, Shaw Floors marry rugs and broadloom in “Modern Classics”
Dalton, Ga. – For the first collaboration between Shaw Industries’ sister divisions, Shaw Living and Shaw Floors, the company is launching a new Modern Classics collection that marries broadloom with area rugs.  more

3. Heimtextil sees slight uptick in visitors
Frankfurt, Germany – The recently concluded Heimtextil trade fair here drew 72,000 visitors, eclipsing the 2009 show’s tally of 72,000.  more  
4. Toronto Fabric Fair to present 32 mills
Toronto – The semi-annual Toronto Fabric Fair will host 32 exhibitors when it takes place Feb. 9-11 at the Paradise Convention Center here.  more  
5. Plow & Hearth reforest campaign exceeds expectations
Madison, Va. – The Plow & Hearth Campaign to Reforest America outdid itself during the recently holiday season thanks to higher than expected sales.  more
