New York – The Fashion Delivers Charitable Foundation Inc. said it is coordinating efforts to send new product donations to Haiti’s many victims of the 7.0 earthquake that struck the country’s capital, Port-Au-Prince, on Tuesday afternoon. more

2. NRF says holidays ended on high note with 1.1% increase
Washington – The National Retail Federation called retailers’ collective 1.1% gain in sales to $446.8 billion in November and December “the best Christmas gift of all,” considering the organization had originally projected a 1% decline. more

3. Williams-Sonoma posts high single-digit percentage gains in net revenue, comps for holidays
San Francisco – Encouraged by the high single-digit percentage gains it made over the eight-week holiday selling period, Williams-Sonoma Inc. said it is increasing its fourth quarter revenue guidance. more

Minneapolis – Attributing improvements in both its own business and in the general economy, Target Corp. said it will resume a $10 billion share buy-back program. more

5. Unifi and Polartec align for new “Repreve 100”-made fabrics
Greensboro, N.C. – Multi-filament polyester and nylon textured yarn producer and processor Unifi Inc. has partnered with performance fabric developer, manufacturer and marketer Polartec to co-create new performance fabrics made with the eco-friendly Repreve 100 post-consumer waste fabric. more

6. ShopNBC surpasses one million customers
Minneapolis – Multi-channel retailer ShopNBC has surpassed a record one million customers -- the company’s largest customer count in its 19-year history. more

7. Shaw creates new “hierarchy” for its fiber offerings
Dalton, Ga. – Shaw has established a new fiber hierarchy intended to structures its brands in pyramid form to demonstrate their respective benefits and warranty packages. more

New York – Upscale fabric and wallcovering company F. Schumacher & Co. has promoted Susan North to vp/creative director of Schumacher. more
