New York – Same-store sales experienced a lull during first week of December, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more  
2. Hudson’s Bay nameplates contract Li & Fung for sourcing
Hong Kong and Toronto – Global consumer goods exporter Li & Fung will oversee global sourcing for four of Hudson Bay’s retail chains: the Bay, Zellers, Home Outfitters and Lord & Taylor.  more  
 
3. Anti-trust settlement cash on its way to retailers
New York – Merchants across the nation will receive checks this week for approximately $1.1 billion as part of a landmark antitrust settlement over Visa and MasterCard-branded signature debit cards.  more  
4. Alberi joins Downlite
Mason, Ohio – Utility bedding manufacturer Downlite has hired Glen Alberi as national sales manager.  more  
5. 828 promotes Shuler to head all Carolina accounts
Greenville, S.C. – 828 International has promoted national accounts representative Candy Droege Shuler to add North and South Carolina accounts to her duties.  more  
6. Zack, Frankel acquire Dorell Fabrics
Los Angeles – Veteran decorative fabric executive Richard Zack and Loomcraft principal Ron Frankel have purchased Dorell Fabrics here.  more  
7. FIT sets date for scholarship breakfast
New York – The Fashion Institute of Technology’s annual scholarship breakfast to benefit the school’s Home Products Development Department will take place March 9.  more  
8. Scene Weaver renews license with Rightsell
Greensboro, N.C. – Kelly Rightsell, professional artist and owner of Kelly B. Rightsell Designs, has extended her license agreement with home and baby textiles company, Scene Weaver, LLC.  more  
9. AmericasMart readies for Rug Market with special programs
Atlanta – In support of the upcoming International Area Rug Market in early January, the AmericasMart has scheduled a number of special programs for retailers and suppliers.  more  
10. Pantone's Color of the Year for 2010: Turquoise
Carlstadt, N.J. – Color authority Pantone today unveiled Pantone 15-5519 Turquoise, it’s Color of the Year for 2010.  more
