Wilmington, Del. – A hearing was scheduled this morning on the series of first-day motions involving the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of memory foam sleep product manufacturer Sleep Innovations.  more  
2. Martha to help fete Macy’s 150th birthday  
Cincinnati – Martha Stewart and her business partner chef Emeril Lagasse will co-host an Oct. 24 cocktail gala in New Orleans, where two new stores will open as part of the Macy’s 150th anniversary celebration this month.  more  
 
3. Home Source names Schaus director of bedding design  
Atlanta -- Home Source International has hired Lissa Schaus as director of bedding design, effective immediately; she will develop bedding products for the Portico brand, newly licensed by Home Source.  more  
4. Bella Rose hires two designers  
Oklahoma City – Top-of-bed, table linen and decorative pillow company Bella Rose by Chateau has hired two new designers to broaden its high-end bedding and decorative accessory offerings.  more  
5. Walgreen chairman named to JCP board  
Plano, Texas – Mid-tier department store operator JCPenney has named Walgreen chairman and ceo Jeffrey Rein to its board of directors, effective Dec. 9.  more
