1. Muji plants its U.S. flagship in New York
New York – Muji USA will open its U.S. flagship store May 30 in the New York Times Building. The 4,350-square-foot store will be located at 620 8th Ave.  more  
2. Macy’s plans Sarasota unit
Cincinnati – Macy’s today announced it will open a store in Sarasota, Fla., at the new University Town Center development.  more  
 
3. Passarelli joins Jeffrey Fabrics
New York -- Jeffrey Fabrics has hired Angela Passarelli to develop new business opportunities.  more  
4. Chandra Rugs in expansion mode
Adairsville, Ga. – Indian handmade area rug manufacturer Chandra Rugs has expanded is showroom space at the AmericasMart here to more than 3,300 square feet.  more  
5. Homespice Décor’s owners deliver Green World to discounters
Tucker, Ga. – Braided rug and accessory manufacturer Homespice Décor has a new sibling with the recent birth of sister company Green World Rugs.  more  
7. RISD textiles MFA candidates hosting NYC reception, viewing
Providence, R.I. – A dozen masters students from the Rhode Island School of Design’s [RISD] Textile Department will present selections of their work at a public event at New York Design Center on June 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.  more
