1. GHCL: We’re not buying LNT   
New York – GHCL, the Indian industrial conglomerate that is currently liquidating supplier Dan River, denies it is seeking to acquire Linens ’n Things out of bankruptcy – despite a spate of reports from business media outlets in India that it and Indian textiles manufacturer Welspun are in negotiations for the troubled retailer.  more  
2. Macy’s going local, liking Martha  
Cincinnati – Within the 8-month-old Martha Stewart Collection at Macy’s, high-end luxury home textiles are “just tremendous,” asserted Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and ceo of Macy’s Inc.  more  
 
3. Kohl’s clips inventory as home slumps  
Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Home trailed the company as “clearly the weakest” category at Kohl’s during the first quarter, the 957-unit mid-tier department store reported late yesterday.  more  
4. UF&D intros designer hospitality collection
Las Vegas – United Feather & Down yesterday introduced Eileen West Escapes, a home collection designed for the hospitality business.  more  
5. Ikea supplies virtual décor for Sims homes  
Redwood City, Calif. – Interactive game producer Electronic Arts next month will release an add-on to its “The Sims” series that will enable players to embellish their virtual homes with virtual Ikea furnishings.  more  
6. Costa Blanca to exit U.S., sells JLA Unisuede rights 
High Point, N.C. -- Spanish upholstery fabric source Costa Blanca Textiles said it is pulling out of the U.S. market, and JLA Home Fabrics will pick up its Unisuede business.  more  
7. Clarification: Linens ’n Things
Regarding the HTT Extra story “LNT: To ship or not to ship,” posted Wednesday, May 14, Beacon Looms ceo Sy Sadinoff has clarified that terms of 15 days net were suggested by Linens ’n Things for several specific rush orders and not across its vendor base as he originally understood.  more
