1. LNT: To ship or not to ship
Clifton, N.J. — Linens ’n Things is reporting that vendors have begun shipping two weeks after its Chapter 11 bankruptcy and a day after the company told the Securities and Exchange Commission its quarterly financial report would be delayed.  more  
2. Consolidation costs still stifling Macy’s   
Cincinnati – Macy’s Inc. reported a loss for the first quarter this morning, but reaffirmed its full-year earnings forecast.  more  
 
3. Mills, Dan River clash over container ownership 
Wilmington, Del. – The battle continues between Dan River and a group of off-shore mills that contend the liquidating U.S. division of the Indian conglomerate GHCL owes them a collective $30 million for merchandise.  more  
4. Springs unveils Sanitized line for Hotels   
Las Vegas – At the HD Expo here this week, May 15-17, Springs Global US will unveil a hospitality bed and bath program employing Sanitized technology, which inhibits the growth of bacteria that causes odor and keeps items fresher longer.  more  
5. Texlynx teams with BASF for value-added products  
Lahore, Pakistan – Chemical developer BASF Pakistan Private Limited and buying house/resource agency Texlynx Home have agreed to collaborate in developing innovative textiles for global retailers and brands in the U.S. and Europe.  more  
6. Bloomingdale’s promotes Berman, Anderson 
New York – Frank Berman and Charles Anderson have been promoted to senior vps at Bloomingdale’s, both continuing to report to Tony Spring, president and coo.  more  
7. Kaleen Rugs recruits Washburn  
Dalton, Ga. – Hand-tufted, hand-knotted and hand-loomed India-based area rug manufacturer Kaleen, which runs its U.S. operations here, has appointed Tammy Washburn to the newly created post of regional accounts manager.  more  
8. WestPoint wins Wal-Mart award for innovation
Bentonville, Ark. – Wal-Mart last week tapped WestPoint Home for the annual Innovation & Quality Improvement Award for the home division.  more  
9. Panel: going green in décor fabrics   
New York – Traditional Home magazine and fabric house Robert Allen will host a Green Panel discussion next week at the D&D building here.  more  
10. Showtime to spotlight Jackson Design winners
High Point, N.C. – With students from only six colleges participating in the 2008 Virginia Jackson Design Competition awards, three dominated the winners’ circle in the annual event sponsored by the International Textile Market Association (ITMA).  more
