1. Dan River looks to unload equipment
Wilmington, Del. – Dan River has petitioned the U.S. District Bankruptcy Court here to allow it to rapidly sell off furniture, office equipment and “small amounts” of inventory before expenses such as rent and labor “further erode the liquidation value of these assets.”  more  
2. Natco expands domestic rug production  
West Warwick, R.I. – Natco Products Corp. is expanding its domestic area rug and accent rug machine-made operations, adding 60,000 square feet to its existing 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sanford, Maine.  more  
 
3. Couristan cross-coordinates in Roll Runners brochure   
Fort Lee, N.J. – Rug producer Couristan has released a newly designed Roll Runner brochure aimed at showcasing the many cross-coordination possibilities for its broad roll runner line with a new range of area rugs, special shaped pieces and wall-to-wall carpeting.  more  
4. JanelleStyle teams up with Daryl Jenkins for sales  
Smyrna, Ga. – Home décor design firm JanelleStyle Designs has signed with Dallas-based Daryl Jenkins & Associates to manage its sales in Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and New Mexico, and also in Mexico.  more  
5. New Purista tagline ready for home products
Norwalk, Conn. – Specialty chemical producer Arch Chemicals has debuted a new tagline for its Purista textile treatment: “Stays Fresh, Wash Less.”  more  
6. Egyptian Pavilion set for Global Home Textiles 
White Plains, N.Y. – Seven producers of high-end home textiles will participate in the Egyptian Pavilion at Global Home Textiles, May 6-8 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.  more  
7. Home Depot taps Bifulco for marketing 
Atlanta – Home improvement retailer The Home Depot has named Frank Bifulco svp and chief marketing officer, reporting to Craig Menear, evp merchandising.  more  
8. Wal-Mart alters board makeup 
Bentonville, Ark. – Wal-Mart Stores has nominated two new director candidates to replace two current directors who will not stand for re-election at the June 6 annual meeting.  more
