1. Same-store sales hurt by lack of consumer “desire” 
New York – Comparable-store sales slowed in the second week of the April, but month-to-date comps remained just ahead of the goal of a 1.8% gain, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more  
2. Dan River seeks $32 million in financing
Wilmington, Del. – Dan River, which filed for Chapter 11 protection in the bankruptcy court here on April 20, said in court filings that it has arranged to borrow as much as $32 million from GMAC Commercial Finance to fund its restructuring.  more  
 
3. Design Within Reach offers green goods  
San Francisco – Specialty retailer Design Within Reach is spotlighting a range of green goods for Earth Day, including some home textiles products.  more  
4. FIT home products students to be honored this Thursday 
New York – The International Furnishings and Design Association, New York chapter, will host a reception to honor the Class of 2008 of the Fashion Institute of Technology Home Products Development this Thursday, April 24.  more

Greenville, S.C. – Area and accent rug supplier 828 International Trading Company has promoted Amy DeLettera to account manager, assigned to service the company’s retail customers in the greater Atlanta area.  more
