New Delhi, India – Dan River parent GHCL said over the weekend that shuttering Dan River will help it better pursue a retail venture in the United States.  more

Clifton, N.J. – Troubled specialty retailer Linens ’n Things has acknowledged that its major suppliers have formed an ad hoc committee to discuss merchandise delivery arrangements as well as financial issues.  more

New York – Portico Home, the brand acquired last year by industry veterans Gregg Haft and Charles Schlang, is preparing to launch an aggressive campaign to tout Portico’s green bona fides.  more  
4. Ingeo pop-up gallery highlights eco-benefits 
New York – In its fourth annual Ingeo Earth Month activities, NatureWorks LLC will mount a pop-up exhibition of products and a roundtable discussion on green issues, launching tomorrow, Earth Day, with the unveiling of the Ingeo Earth Month Creative Gallery here.  more  
5. Dillard’s mulls options on construction firm  
Little Rock, Ark. – Southeastern regional department store operator Dillard’s Inc. has hired Stephens Inc. to help it evaluate its options with regard to its 50% stake in construction firm CDI Contractors LLC.  more
