1. Luxury bedding next move for Vera Wang
New York – Vera Wang next month will debut a high-end bedding line to broaden her reach in home and extend her bridal empire. In 2009 and 2010, the designer plans to move into rugs, decorative fabric, furniture, lighting, decorative accessories and paint. more

2. Mohawk adjusts as profits squeezed
Calhoun, Ga. – Soft and hard flooring, more so the latter, negatively affected the Mohawk segment of Mohawk Industries, pressing total company first quarter net earnings down to $65 million, down 28% from the year ago period. more

3. Diesel arrives in the bedroom
Rho, Italy – Successful Living from Diesel, a line of three distinct bed and bath moods reflecting the signature sense and attitude of the avant-garde apparel company, was introduced here this week at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile. more
