1. Ikea to open Brooklyn store June 18   
Brooklyn, N.Y. – The first Ikea store in New York City, a 346,000-square-foot unit in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, is set to open for business June 18.  more

White Plains, N.Y. – The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has organized a group of 30 suppliers that will exhibit in the first-ever Pakistan Pavilion during the Global Home Textiles show, May 6-8.  more  
 
3. Couristan pro Sindoni dies 
Fort Lee, N.J. – Lawrence Sindoni, a veteran of the floor covering industry and a member of the Couristan team for 25 years, passed away at his home on April 14. He was 73.  more  
4. Bon-Ton promotes Mansker   
York, Pa.—Department store operator The Bon-Ton Stores has promoted Jimmy Mansker to svp, merchandise planning and internet marketing.  more
