Hayward, Calif. -- Mervyns yesterday named John Goodman president and ceo, effective April 7. Previously, Goodman was with Levi Strauss & Co., serving as president and general manager of its Dockers brand, a staple in Mervyns' menswear.  more

Cleveland – A collection of colorful, cheerful and kid-friendly bath products are the latest juvenile offerings set to come from Blonder Home Accents under a new licensing partnership with 100-plus year-old crayon company Crayola.  more  
 
3.  Evans joins cmi
Pawtucket, R.I. – Braided texture rug manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.) has appointed 30-year floor covering industry veteran Roy Evans as its vp, sales and marketing.  more  
4. Martha Stewart to speak at High Point Market
High Point, N.C. -- Home products icon Martha Stewart will take the stage at the High Point Theatre at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, to discuss home decorating and her design inspirations before a High Point Market audience.  more
