Uniondale, N.Y. – Stabilization and turnaround are the two key immediate challenges for Charles Chinni, newly named chairman and ceo of specialty retailer Fortunoff.  more  
2. Martha to seek mass market partners after Kmart
New York – Addressing her second analyst conference in as many days, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia’s chief elaborated a bit yesterday on her March 10 assertion the brand would live on in the mass market after its exclusive contract with Kmart expires in January 2010.  more  
 
3. Iconix licenses St. Mary’s to IHF 
New York – Iconix Brand Group said has signed an agreement with International Home Fashions (IHF) to license the St. Mary’s brand for bedding and blankets.  more  
4. Hilfiger Fifth Avenue store set for November 
New York – The tourist-jammed stretch of Fifth Avenue from Central Park to 34th Street will gain another shopping icon this November with the planned opening of the Tommy Hilfiger world flagship store.  more  
5. Gottschalks sees tough 2008
Fresno, Calif. – Western regional department store operator Gottschalks anticipates a challenging year ahead, executives said during the retailer’s year-end conference call yesterday.  more  
6. United Feather & Down updates hospitality catalog 
Des Plaines, Ill. – United Feather & Down, luxury bedding manufacturer and supplier to premier hotels, has released a new hospitality catalog that highlights pillows, comforters, mattress toppers and blankets.  more

HTT is preparing its preview of new products set for introduction at the High Point International Home Furnishings Market.  more
