1. March same-store sales come in like a lamb  
New York – Merchandisers lagged goals in the first week of March, posting a 1.0% comparable-store sales gain, vs. the target of a 1.4% gain, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more  
2. Bon-Ton boosts private label lines   
York, Pa. – Since the debut last fall of its private label soft home brand Ruff Hewn, department store operator The Bon-Ton Stores is set to roll out the program to another 19 of its “Northern Lodge” lifestyle stores.  more  
 
3. Schumacher debuts Williamsburg luxury fabrics   
Williamsburg, Va. – Decorative fabric supplier Schumacher has launched its first new Colonial Williamsburg collection in three years.  more  
4. Former HSN exec Aiu named ceo of ShopNBC  
Minneapolis – Internet- and TV-based luxury retailer ShopNBC has named Rene Aiu president and ceo; she was previously svp of marketing, sales, programming and production at Home Shopping Network (HSN).  more  
5. London Luxury hires Faktorovich  
New Rochelle, N.Y. – London Luxury has hired Ann Faktorovich as director of marketing and strategic brand development.  more  
6. Lenox looks to more home licenses
Eden Prairie, Minn. — Lenox, vendor of tabletop, collectible and giftware products under the Lenox, Department 56, Gorham and Dansk brand names, has appointed agency IMC Licensing to help develop strategies, and identify and develop licensing opportunities in other categories.  more  
7. Final Days to enter for the HTT TiA Awards!
Home Textiles Today invites suppliers that exhibited during New York Home Fashions Market and/or the recent New York Home Textiles Market Week/NY International Gift Fair to submit images of their “Best of Show” new products for the TiA -- the Textiles Industry Award -- which spotlights the most trend-right textiles coming out of Winter Market.  more
