1. Home no help in February retail sales  
New York – The new retail year started much the way the entire fiscal 2007 year seemed to go, with department stores struggling, off-price chains and warehouse clubs thriving --and Wal-Mart continuing to impress.  more  
2. In home makeover, Meijer champions green goods   
Grand Rapids, Mich. – On the heels of its Cannon Classic and Cannon Royal Family bedding and bath launch five months ago, 181-unit supercenter chain Meijer this month “revitalized” its soft home department with its new-and-improved At Home private label program -- and also introduced the new Organics bedding and bath offerings of eco-friendly sheets, towels and pillows.  more  
 
3. Merchant Robert Lauter remembered    
New York – Services were held here March 3 for legendary home furnishings executive Robert Lauter, 88, who died in California on Feb. 26.  more  
4. TiA Call for Submissions
Home Textiles Today invites suppliers that exhibited during New York Home Fashions Market and/or the recent New York Home Textiles Market Week/NY International Gift Fair to submit images of their “Best of Show” new products for the TiA -- the Textiles Industry Award -- which spotlights the most trend-right textiles coming out of Winter Market.  more
