1. JCP: American Living going live  
New York – American Living, the JCPenney storewide merchandise launch created by Polo Ralph Lauren’s Global Brand Concepts was given a high powered media send-off last night prior to its consumer launch, set to begin with commercials during the Oscar presentations Feb. 24.  more  
2. Discounters ahead in February same-store sales    
New York – Discount chains continue to drive industry-wide comparable store sales gains, keeping the mark just even with the February goal after the first two weeks, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more  
 
3. Iconix 2007 profit doubles   
New York – Along with signing an exclusive Cannon direct-to-retailer license with Sears Holdings, Iconix Brand Group today reported its full year 2007 earnings were about twice the profit that the company earned in the prior year.  more  
4. TJX testing new home format  
Framingham, Mass. – Stressing that its own execution and not the economy was to blame for soft sales in the T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores’ home category during the fourth quarter, off-price retailer TJX Companies outlined plans to improve the segment – including a new store prototype now undergoing tests – during the company’s earnings call this morning.  more  
5. Martha Stewart marks profitable year   
New York – A strong fourth quarter helped Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia cross into black ink for its full year results, posting 2007 net income of $10.3 million compared to a net loss of $17.0 million in the prior year.  more  
6. TiA Call for Submissions
Home Textiles Today invites suppliers that exhibited during New York Home Fashions Market and/or the recent New York Home Textiles Market Week/NY International Gift Fair to submit images of their “Best of Show” new products for the TiA -- the Textiles Industry Award -- which spotlights the most trend-right textiles coming out of Winter Market.  more
