1. February same-store sales strong in mass channel
New York – Comparable-store retail sales tipped up 0.6% in the first week of the February retail month, slightly below plan but well above the 0.2% comp gain in the final January week, the Johnson Redbook reported today.  more

At the New York Market – Donna Karan Home is indulging in color this market, with rich reds leading the way.  more  
 
3. Calvin Collection gets organic  
At the New York Market – In the top of the line program Collection by Calvin Klein Home, the organic cotton bed entry for fall 2008 is Cotton Flowers, an allover floral print jacquard in a double cloth construction. The bed has been certified both as to its cotton origins and its finishing processes, said Rudy Schmatz, chairman.  more  
4. Revman refreshes Kors, Bahama   
At the New York Market – Major additions to the Michael Kors and Tommy Bahama collections are key for fall at Revman International.  more  
5. FIT, HFPA honor industry leaders  
At the New York Market – Several hundred suppliers, retailers and associates braved the seasonal chill to salute the honorees at this morning’s scholarship-fundraiser Home Products Development Breakfast hosted by the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Home Fashion Products Association.  more  
6. Encore by Brumlow in bath   
At the New York Market – Brumlow is returning to the bath rug category after being away for the past two years.  more  
7.  Caldeira crosses the pond in European Velvet 
At the New York Market – Caldeira’s European Velvet collection offers American shoppers decorative pillow fashions popular with their friends across the Atlantic.  more  
8. Welspun Hygro bath rug draws interest   
At the New York Market – In four months, Dennis Fein and his team have come up with more than 100 new bath rug constructions to launch India-based Welspun into the category.  more  
9. Croscill makes the case for area rugs   
At the New York Market – What began about three years ago as an accent to its business is now growing into a bigger investment in the floor covering category by Croscill Home Fashions, as the company now has added 5-by-8 area rugs to its growing rug assortment.  more  
10. Jia Li launches window treatments   
At the New York Market -- Shanghai-based Jia Li Textiles, known for its quilts and bedding, this market is expanding into the window coverings category by launching a series of products that coordinate with its beds or stand alone.  more  
11. Velvet colors Allegra intros  
At the New York Market -- Among this market’s introductions from tabletop resource Allegra Industries are doilies and runners made in India, and a new rug program.  more  
12. Correction
Due to a proofreading error, an item in yesterday’s HTT Extra incorrectly identified the product category responsibilities for the London Fog brand, licensed by Iconix Brand Group. The correct areas of responsibility: Westgate is producing decorative pillows and fashion comforters, as well as related coordinates for bed, bath and window. PEM America will produce bed pillows and down comforters.
