1. January same-store sales end short of goal
New York – Comparable store retail sales were up 0.2% in the week ending Saturday, Feb. 2, slowing from a 0.4% rise the week before, the Johnson Redbook reported today. more

2. Badgley Mischka heads into home
New York -- Town & Country Living will introduce the Badgley Mischka home collection at the New York Home Textiles Market. The introduction will mark the first foray into home for the famed fashion design team of Mark Badgley and James Mischka, who have extended their luxury evening wear brand into Sportswear collections, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses, swimwear, bridal, home, fragrance, intimates, watches, footwear, and belts. more

3. Sferra Debuts Giza 45 superfine cotton line
New York – Sferra Brothers has upped the ante on luxury Egyptian cotton constructions with the introduction of Sferra Giza 45, which is constructed of the finest – and rarest – Egyptian cotton. more

4. Textiles best new products winners announced at Javits
New York -- Shades of India was awarded "Best of Market" yesterday in the New York Home Textiles Market Week Best New Product Awards competition at the Jacob Javits Center. more

5. Fourth-generation Siegels take helm at Elrene
New York -- The fourth generation of Siegel family is sitting at the head of the table now at Elrene Home Fashions. more

6. Gosselin to head sales at Famous Home Fashions
Montreal -- Famous Home Fashions Inc., producer of bath products, has promoted Chantal Gosselin to vp sales. She will oversee all sales to domestic and export markets, as well manage the in-house sales team, and sales agencies. more

7. Mallow to steer sales at Achim Importing
New York – Howie Mallow has joined Achim Importing as evp of sales and marketing. He will be based out of the Brooklyn-based company’s Manhattan office in the Textile Building at 295 5th Avenue, Suite 1509. more

8. Seduce us with Your Most ‘Romantic’ Home Textiles Product
