828 names Beard vp, broadloom

GREENVILLE, SC — 828 International Trading Co., based here, has hired Jim Beard as vp, broadloom operations.
Beard's appointment is part of 828's latest initiative — entry into the upscale residential broadloom market.
Beard formerly worked for Radici USA as vp. Previously, he also held vp positions at Horizon and Orian Rugs.
He will report to Ivan Phillips, executive vp.
"Beard's tremendous expertise gives us a running start as we enter the broadloom business," Phillips said. "We have experienced incredible growth in the past couple of years and have no plans of slowing down. Now that we have successfully developed our power-loomed and handmade lines, high-end broadloom is the next logical step for us. Our goal is to become a total soft surface source, supplying our customers with the best in beautiful, affordable rugs and carpets."
