Melnick promoted to vp, sales at Waverly

NEW YORK — Evan Melnick has been promoted to vp, sales and merchandising for Waverly Home Fashions.
Melnick, who joined Waverly in July 2000 as director, sales and merchandising, formerly was with Crown Crafts as director of national accounts. He will oversee the placement of home fashions products, expand the channel of distribution and increase the sales volume.
He assumes the home fashions responsibilities of Art Birkins, who will join WestPoint Stevens as senior vp, basic bedding as of May 7.
Assuming Birkins' responsibilities in the decorative fabrics sales function is Arthur Friedman, vp, fabrics, Waverly Lifestyle Group.
Melnick and Richard Ennis, vp, home fashions operations, who formerly reported to Birkins now report to Christiane Michaels, president and general manager, Waverly Lifestyle Group.
