BURBANK, CA -Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced the appointment of Karen McTier to executive vp, Domestic Licensing, and Marcia Aoki to the position of managing director of the Japan office, both for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.

McTier will report directly to Dan Romanelli, president, Worldwide Warner Bros. Consumer Products, and will oversee the domestic licensing activities in North America for all Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network properties. She will also manage the theme park licensing business.

"Karen has been an extremely integral member of the Warner Bros. Consumer Products team since she first joined the company 13 years ago," said Romanelli. "She has made immeasurable contributions to the success and the growth of the company year after year, and her promotion is well earned and indicative of our ongoing commitment to recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance."

Prior to joining Warner Bros., McTier formerly worked for Mattel Inc. and within the advertising business.

Aoki will report directly to Mark Matheny, executive vp, international for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. She will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Japan office as well as overseeing the development and implementation of strategies for the development of Warner Bros. core brands and businesses in the Japanese market.

"We are very excited that Marcia has joined our highly successful international business team," said Matheny. "With a wide range of experience in the industry, extensive knowledge of the Japanese market, excellent management skills and the ability to creatively build new synergies, she will be a key asset in leading our organization and partners in this important business sector."

Prior to joining Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Aoki served as a business consultant to several U.S. companies in Japan and helped in the development of Snoopy Studios with Universal Studio's new theme park, which will open in Osaka, Japan in April.
