Dwell blends bedding with geometric designs

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 3/26/2001

NEW YORK -Bedding manufacturer Dwell will be premiering new bedding print patterns, as well as sateen bedding, blankets, throws and rugs.

Focusing on geometric designs in strong colors, Dwell will show six new printed geometric designs for top-of-the-bed: Circle In Square, in bright green; Dots, in taupe, chocolate or slate on an ecru ground; Square Dot, in taupe, chocolate and orange; Hourglass, in light blue; Stripe One, a wide vertical stripe in chocolate, taupe and ecru; and Stripe Two, a tight chocolate horizontal stripe. Several of the patterns also have coordinating 215-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Imported from Israel, the collection will wholesale for $35 for a printed queen flat sheet and $65 for a queen duvet.

A sateen line will also debut, in either a white-on-white pattern or ecru-on-ecru. Patterns include Cubes, Circles and Hourglass. Sheets of 250-count are also available. Imported from Eastern Europe, it will wholesale for $58 for a flat queen sheet and $95 for a queen duvet.

The company will also highlight blankets and throws from Peru. The throws, in either 100 percent baby alpaca or a blend of alpaca and wool, come in different knitted constructions, including a double-faced chocolate and camel throw with leather trim and a baby alpaca throw in either gray or chocolate. The bed-sized blankets of alpaca and wool are in such colors as oatmeal and off-white.

Made in Nepal, its line of rugs have modern, graphic looks, some mirroring the print bedding patterns Circle In Square, Square in Square and others. The collection is available in custom colors and sizes, in either 100 percent wool, at $40 per square foot, or wool and silk, at $45 per square foot.

Dwell will be in booth #1004 at the Javits Center during the textiles show.
