Pacific Coast promotes Moen to coo

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 3/26/2001

SEATTLE, WA -Pacific Coast Feather has promoted Eric Moen, a long-time employee who started with the company in 1989 as cfo, to the position of coo.

Over the course of his tenure with PCF, Moen has been promoted two times previously, to senior vp in 1992 and to executive vp in 1999.

"We expect a smooth transition," said Roy Clothier, president/ceo, who formerly also held the coo position. "Eric has been actively involved in board issues for many years and has led the executive committee since its inception two years ago. He has extraordinary business judgement and is respected by customers, suppliers and employees alike. He is a thoughtful and intelligent leader."

When asked if he was being groomed as the next president/ceo, Moen replied, "that issue will be addressed somewhere down the road."

Moen, who will report directly to Clothier, played major parts in acquisitions by PCF of PCF Canada, Restful Knights, Allstate Medical and Southern Quilters.

"There are challenges and opportunities in our categories," Moen told HTT about PCF's business. "I think there's still some confusion at the consumer level about basic bedding, and I think we can address some branding issues that will help up to break through that confusion."

Despite a slowing economy and shaken consumer confidence, Moen said he expects PCF's categories as well as the overall business to continue to do well at all levels.
