Best New Product Winners Named at Show

New York – Five home textiles producers were winners of the Best New Products Awards at the New York International Gift Fair/Home Textiles Market Week at the Jacob Javits Center here.

Designers Guild (New York) was name Best of Market for its Watelet Duvet, made of 200-thread count cotton sateen, featuring a vibrant chartreuse color that reverses to white.

Category winners include the following:

Bedding

Winner: Blissliving Home (Rockville, Maryland) for the Chang Mai Duvet Set, a children’s bed set featuring Thai motifs in creative pointillism – including elephants, Thai warriors and native flowers – designed by 11-year-old Aria Curameng.

Finalist: John Robshaw Textiles and Home (New York) for its Hand-Stitched Duvet, block-printed on 400-thread count cotton sateen.

Finalist: Ogallala Comfort Company (Ogallala, Neb.) for its organic Hypodown duvet.

Bath

Winner: vieandsomn (West Orange, N.J.) for its Terry-Lined Robe, made of biodynamic organic Egyptian cotton and designed to sit flat against the waist with no added bulk.

Finalist: Forza & Home by Turkish Towel Collection (Berkeley, Calif.) for its Ottoman Topkapi Collection towels.

Finalist: Matouk (Fall River, Mass.) for Bespoke Towels.


Dining
Winner: Settings by Mona Inc. (Las Vegas) for its Easycare Collection, a stain-resistant, hand-embroidered tablecloth that requires little or no ironing.

Finalist: Pom Pom at Home (Los Angeles) for its Audrey Tablecloth.

Finalist: Linen Way (Woodbridge, Ontario) for its Birds Olive green/blue tablecloth.


Home Accessories

Winner: V Rugs & Home (Miami) for its Olivette Decorative Pillow, made with environmentally-friendly materials, including mango wood chips to create pattern and texture over hemp.

Finalist: Allem Studio (Marietta, Ga.) for its Madhubani Dancing Peacocks Pillow. 

Finalist: Designers Guild (New York) for its Porden cushion.

Winners were chosen by a panel of trade and consumer editors. They included: Jennifer Marks, editor in chief, Home Textiles Today; Tracy Bulla, senior product editor, Home Accents Today; Wanda Jankowski, editor in chief, LDB Interior Textiles; Katherine E. Nelson, freelance/contributor, LA Times; Julia Noran, managing partner, Editor at Large; and Abby Tabak, bed and bath editor, House Beautiful.
