New York—Frette’s spring/summer 2010 collection turns to the world of art for inspiration.

The Venice Collection, inspired by American impressionist John Singer Sargent’s work in the city in the late 1800’s, features patterns such as over-lapping scales and miniature pointillist dots. Bed covers are metallic silks in lavender, silver and copper.

The Vienna collection takes its influence from symbolist Gustav Klimt, with organic floral shapes as well as geometric renditions of rosette blooms. The washed silk pieces evoke the gold leaf Klimt used in his paintings.

The Aix collection taps the work of Henri Matisse in Aix-en-Provence. Provencal florals are executed in an informal jacquard, with a color palette ranges from bold reds to pale greens.

The Edmond Frette Collection — a print-oriented brand that launched earlier this year — focuses on Tuscan motifs for the spring/summer 2010 season.

Allegra features a leaf motif print of curving vines and is available in midnight black, seas green and coral.

Nocelle uses a stamped, shield-like ceramic tile print and is available in contrasting orange and black or sage green and deep blue.

Patio, Scala and Ombra feature a more muted sun-bleached color scheme in an interchanging pattern of floral and geometric shapes.

Accent pieces include color-block blankets in merino wool and cashmere that can mix into any of the Edmond bedding; leather dec pillows in a range of colors from copper to ocean; and canvas dec pillows stamped with motifs from the bedding.
