Surya to Team with Country Living

-- Home Textiles Today, 10/19/2009

Calhoun, Ga. — Surya and Hearst Brand Development have entered into an exclusive partnership to develop a rug collection under the Country Living brand.

The program is set to launch during the High Point Market, which is scheduled from Oct. 17 to 21, at Surya’s showroom in space 3233 at Showplace.

Inspired by the relaxed lifestyle themes found in the pages of the monthly shelter magazine, the initial offering for the Country Living collection will include more than 50 styles, including braids, jutes, hooked wool patterns, stripes and outdoor polys. Featured designs include classic farmhouse stripes, patterns inspired by vintage quilts and traditional braids. Colors range from warm, time-honored hues to energetic brights. The two companies noted that “each piece in the collection was designed to add warmth and beauty to the home and work easily with into any décor.”

Surya president Satya Tiwari said his company’s partnership with Country Living “offers us a tremendous opportunity to expand the Surya product assortment. The brand resonates with a large audience and offers a range of aesthetic for inspiration. We are looking forward to a successful launch at the upcoming High Point market.”

Added Glen Ellen Brown, vp, Hearst Brand Development: “We are very excited to partner with Surya Rugs to launch the new Country Living collection. Our combined equities enable us to offer our devoted readers a wonderful range of options that serve today’s personalized approach to decorating and still remains true to the Country Living lifestyle.”

The collection will be available to consumers at rug and home décor specialty stores and through home décor catalogs and websites. Retail prices will range from $199 to $449.
