Frette teams with Brunschwig and Fils

-- Home Textiles Today, 10/13/2009 5:04:00 PM

New York – Italian luxury linen producer Freete is amping up its pursuit of the interior design trade by partnering with high-end fabric producer Brunschwig and Fils in New York’s D and D Building and Florida’s Design Center of the Americas.

“Frette will look to penetrate the Design Center category by aligning with Brunschwig and Fils, the premier textile company that shares the same artisan qualities as Frette,” said Paul Raffin, ceo of Frette North America.

This is Frette’s first foray into the design center sphere, and the company plans to expand in design centers across the country. Frette currently derives 30% of its sales from the designer trade, according to the company.

Brunschwig – which also produces wall coverings, trimmings, upholstered furniture, lamps, tables, mirrors and accessories – will dress all beds in both showrooms with Frette linens from the couture collection. The lines includes jacquard bed sets, luxury furs and cashmere, decorative pillows and decorative pieces. Frette’s core Essential collection pieces will also be carried. Essential bedding pieces coordinate with the fashion bedding.

Thirty percent of the Frette business is designer based and the goal is to provide more accessibility for designers. Designers can upholster furniture pieces, chose window treatment and decorate the bed in one locale.
