New York—Springs Global announced last week that it will divide its U.S. operation into two distinct business units.

The Branded Business Unit will be run by president Joe Granger, who had been svp of Ralph Lauren Home for nearly a decade. He earlier had been with Calvin Klein Home when it was licensed to the former Home Innovations, and prior to that was with the former Pillowtex.

Granger will oversee the relaunched Springmaid brand; the 160-year-old Wamsutta label; and licenses including Court of Versailles, Walt Disney World, Serta and others.

The Private Label Business Unit will be headed by president Harvey Simon, a 15-year Springs veteran who most recently led all merchandising for bedding. Prior to joining Springs he was with Lenox and with retailer May Company.

The new business units will be supported by a shared services organization led by cfo Flavio Barbosa, and by a creative organization led by Edward Cardimona.

“Our core strategy is to foster innovation, bring new products to the marketplace under our brands and our retail partners’ brands, and deliver a full presentation of products for the home,” said Josue Gomes da Silva, chairman and ceo of Springs Global.

Springs US group president Tom O’Connor said the new structure will renew the division’s emphasis on customer service. “Anchored by the experience and relationship of our account teams, our new organizational structure assures Springs will continue to be a force in the home business.”
