Sferra debuts Kelly Wearstler collection

-- Home Textiles Today, 12/18/2008 1:50:00 PM

Edison, N.J. – Luxury linens maker Sferra this month launches a line in conjunction with West Coast contemporary interior designer Kelly Wearstler that will debut in spring, marking her debut in soft home.

The line includes bedding, table linens, throws, table linens and dec pillows.

Wearstler, who has a boutique inside Bergdorf Goodman, has designed for hotels, resorts, residents, offices, restaurants and boutiques. Her collection of hand-made rugs with The Rug Company debuted this past spring and she is expanding into tabletop and wall coverings, among other home areas.

Sferra will introduce Wearstler in luxury textiles with two bedding patterns -- Tracery and Raked Sand -- which are printed on 400-count cotton sateen, with a coordinating coverlet. Each bedding set can layer with Sand Strie or Embroidered Squares sheet sets in 400-count cotton percale. The sets are available in sand or blue.

Tracery is inspired by the natural veining of marble and stone with a color palette of aqua and ivory. Raked Sand is an organic design resembling patterns on the beach in shades of muted peach, oatmeal, ivory and sand.

The collection includes four throws. Diamond is an abstract pattern embroidered on cashmere available in turquoise and nutmeg color ways. Tapestry is a heavy-weight cashmere with a modern art design in flannel and sky color ways. Ombre is the collection’s luxe cashmere available in a pale grey hue or a soft green shade. Marquetry is an abstract wood-grain pattern woven on 100% cashmere in a choice of three colors: dove, slate and mandarin.

Dinner napkins include Confetti, a small polka dot, and Sand Strie, a stripe, in 100% linen. Confetti is available in sage and ivory, Sand Strie in charcoal and sand. Thistle, also 100% linen, is a graphic embroidered design.

Coordinated with the napkins are rings inspired by vintage jewelry and made of hand-made brass. They include Hammered Cuff, Brass Twine, and Twig. Another napkin ring design, Silver Disc, is silver-plated brass evocative over historic metalwork.

The Kelly Wearstler line includes decorative pillows in a range of constructions: ribbon, needlepoint, metallic embroidery, wool embroidery on linen, silk appliqué and chunky yarn embroidery.
