Kabat retires from P/Kaufmann

New York – Lee Kabat, who has been a corporate vp of decorative fabric producer P/Kaufmann since 1979, has retired.
Kabat has entered into a consulting agreement with the company that allows him to pursue opportunities both within and outside the home furnishings industry.
During his tenure at P/Kaufmann, Kabat has held a variety of responsibilities, most recently as the senior executive in charge of Bloomcraft Home Furniture, a unit that has been discontinued. The company will no longer produce an incremental line for the furniture industry, said Ron Kaufmann, ceo, but will continue to produce designs for that industry under the various divisions’ studios.
In recent years, Kabat initiated a manufactured products division that concentrated on the bedding industry. He also was instrumental in establishing a Shanghai office for the logistical support of importing fabrics and manufactured products from China.
