Jesson to steer Beaulieau Canada back into area rug biz

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 8/13/2008 1:21:00 PM

Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada – Beaulieu Canada has appointed Paul Jesson vice president of its new area rug division, marking the broadloom company’s return to the product category after several years absence.

Jesson was with the company for 19 years, and left in 1999. He has spent the intervening years at Korhani and Springs.

In his new role, Jesson will be responsible for building Beaulieu Canada’s area rug business in North America. He will work from the company’s office in Mississauga, Ontario.

The company got out of the area rug business in 2002 when it sold the business to Springs.

Beauilieu Canada will market printed, tufted, woven and possibly hand-made scatters and area rugs and has already begun production on tuffed and printed rugs. The company will target all retail channels from its existing dealer base to home centers and national retailers in Canada and the United States. A number of new product lines are scheduled to launch at the Sufaces show in Las Vegas from Feb. 1-3, 2009.

“I am very excited about Paul joining our company again,” said Karel Vercruyssen, ceo of Beaulieu Canada. “Paul has done a great job for Beaulieu in the past and we are confident he will be successful again with us. Beaulieu Canada is committed to being a leading supplier of floor coverings in Canada and our return to the rug market fits well in that mission.”
