Design Weave to intro Outlast sheets at market

New York – Design Weave will introduce sheets constructed with Outlast Technologies’ temperature-regulating material, the first time Outlast has been used in sheets.

The product line will include 300-count through 400-count damask stripe and sateen sheet sets, down comforters, down alternative comforters, and blankets. It is being produced at Design Weave’s 200,000-square-foot factory in Shandong Province, China.

Sheet sets will be available at the Bronze and Silver Outlast comfort levels, while the comforters and blankets will be available in Bronze, Silver and Gold. Outlast’s tier-based comfort rating system is based on the amount of heat storage capacity in a product. Bronze level products help provide normal sleepers with a more comfortable night’s sleep, while silver targets “thermally incompatible” couples. Gold level products are designed for people who experience night sweats such as women exhibiting symptoms associated with menopause.

Outlast technology was originally developed for NASA. Patented Outlast Thermocules absorb excess heat when the body becomes too warm, releasing it back when when the body cools.

“This provides an added value to the new product line and really helps position Design Weave for future growth in the bedding industry,” said Mike Pirkle, vp of sales at Design Weave.

The line will be introduced at New York Home Furnishings Market Week from Sept. 15-19 in Design Weave’s showroom at 7 W. 34th St.
