828 International taps Coloian for Ohio market

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/23/2008 2:03:00 PM

Greenville, S.C. – Area rug resource 828 International Trading Co. has appointed 40-year floorcovering industry veteran Chuck Coloian as the company’s new account manager for the Ohio market.

Based in Westlake, Ohio, he reports to Tom Morris, national sales manager.

Coloian’s career spans both the supplier and retailer sides. He has been a buyer for Higbee’s in Cleveland and for Crowley’s in Detroit, and spent 16 years with Oriental Weavers as an account manager tending to its Michigan, Ohio and Western Pennsylvania markets.

In his new position, Coloian is focused on increasing 828’s sales and market share by working with existing dealers and building new business with specialty retailers.

“Chuck has seen this industry through good times and bad,” Morris said. “He has weathered several recessions and knows how to help retailers with inventory, product assortment and training so they can make the most of every business cycle. Chuck’s experience and understanding of the market will be of great benefit to 828 and the retailers he serves.”
