Yahoo signs Wal-Mart to online advertising deal

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 6/4/2008 2:38:00 PM

New York – Major internet portal Yahoo.com will be the “exclusive portal reseller” of display ads for Wal-Mart, in a deal that will also enable the retailer to “present new offers to online customers,” Yahoo said today.

Yahoo called the contract a “strategic, multi-year relationship for online display and video advertising with Walmart.com.”

“By combining Walmart.com’s leading position as a multi-channel retailer with our industry-leading display advertising sales and ad management technology and sales force, we will be able to provide advertisers with the easiest, most effective way to deliver targeted, relevant marketing messages to Walmart.com shoppers,” said Todd Teresi, svp of the Yahoo! Publisher Network.

The company said brand marketers could start using the online retail ad system later this month.
