Pakistan Pavilion Set for Global Home Textiles

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/21/2008

White Plains, N.Y. — The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan has organized a group of 30 suppliers that will exhibit in the first-ever Pakistan Pavilion during the Global Home Textiles show, May 6-8.

"As we launch our participation as a country in Global Home Textiles, we are extremely pleased to showcase the world-class products of 30 export-ready manufacturers within the Pakistan Pavilion," said Shahid Tarar, commercial counselor, Consulate General of Pakistan in Los Angeles.

"The American market is very important to Pakistani home textile manufacturers, with well over 50% of exports in this sector going to the U.S. and revenues approaching $2 billion per year, and growing," Tarar said.

"Country Spotlight — Pakistan," an introduction to that nation's home textiles capabilities, will be held from 1 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. in the Conference Forum of the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, site of Global Home Textiles, which is produced by GLM.
