Roy Evans Joins Colonial Mills

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/21/2008

Pawtucket, R.I. — Braided texture rug manufacturer cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.) has appointed 30-year floor covering industry veteran Roy Evans its vp, sales and marketing.

He heads all of the company's sales and marketing functions. Evans reports to cmi's president, Donald Scarlata.

"Roy's experience and expertise will facilitate our next step in the company's growth plan," said Scarlata. "He's built strong relationships over the years with the top retailers in the industry and we're looking forward to benefiting from his knowledge and network of contacts."

Most recently, Evans was with Dallas-based Feizy Import & Export Co. as its executive director of national sales. Earlier in his career, he worked in various capacities for: New York-based Obeetee Inc.; Pande Cameron & Co., also in New York; Stanford, Maine-based Rainbow Rugs; and Natco Products in West Warwick, R.I.

He launched his career as a business manager with Milliken & Co. in LaGrange, Ga.

"We'll look to leverage our manufacturing capability, design know-how and 'made in the USA' commitment to grow to the next level," Evans said of his plans in his new post with cmi.
