Texlynx Home Celebrates 10 Years

Lahore, Pakistan — Buying house Texlynx Home on March 23 will celebrate its 10th anniversary, which took place in December when the company closed the books on a $47.5 million year.
Now, according to founder Imran Latif, the firm is targeting $100 million in sales by 2010.
Latif said the past decade has been "a bumpy ride" as the global exporting market took shape, requiring "staying agile and adopting new ways of the market."
The latest adoption for Texlynx involves becoming a producer. This year, the company is opening a plant in Lahore to manufacture dec pillows. "It will be completed by the end of 2008 and start running by January 2009," he said.
Texlynx is planning to begin opening additional foreign offices. Between this year and 2010, it plans to open in China, Bangladesh and other parts of the Far East as well as Canada.
Aside from the Lahore headquarters, Texlynx fields personnel in Charlotte, N.C. and Detroit in the United States; Barcelona; and the United Arab Emirates.
In its units, Texlynx strives to foster a workplace that is friendly to working mothers. "We have two well-equipped baby rooms in our [Lahore] office to make it convenient for them," said Latif, adding that the U.S. offices are manned by mothers working from home.
Over the years, Latif has launched sister companies involved in the textiles business. Fiberlynx deals mainly in greige and processed fabric for export to parts of Europe and Mexico as well as local markets. GSC, Global Services Concept, is a compliance consultancy helping vendors with human resources matters, IT and technical support and efficiency. [Editor's note: GSC also represents HTT's advertising division in Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Middle East.]
Looking ahead, Latif also hopes to establish a textiles university — "the first of its kind in Pakistan" — with foreign collaboration.
