Textile Product Winners Named at Javits

New York — Shades of India was awarded "Best of Market" in the New York Home Textiles Market Week Best New Product Awards competition at the Jacob Javits Center.

Awards also were presented in four product-specific categories to winners and finalists selected by a panel of trade and consumer editors. Criteria included innovation in design, creative use of materials/construction and new fiber, material or technology.

The winners and finalists were:

Best of Market

Shades of India (New Delhi, India), Floating Bloom duvet, designed with hand-appliquéd circles to represent floating lotus leaves.

Bedding

Winner: Traditions (Claverack, N.Y.), Clay Palazzo duvet by Charlotte Moss - made from French gaufraged ultra suede.

Finalist: Blissliving Home (Rockville, Md.), Carrie comforter set.

Finalist: Filli Graziano fu Severino (Biela, Italy), luxury cashmere collection.

Bath

Winner: Matouk (New York), Auberge double twist terry towels, in decorative monogrammed relief letters.

Finalist: Forza & Home (Berkeley, Calif.), traditional Turkish Haman towel collection.

Finalist: Peacock Alley (Dallas), bamboo basic towel/bamboo rug.

Dining

Winner: Matteo (Los Angeles), Folk hemstitch and hand-embroidered tablecloth replicating 100-year-old linens.

Finalist: Madeira Embroideries (Madeira Island, Portugal), tablecloth with flowers in linen application.

Finalist: Valentine Fine Italian Home Linens (Santa Monica, Calif.), Naughty Nighttime Pillows.

Home Accessories

Winner: Fino Lino (Ocean Township, N.J.), Tokyo jacquard throw pillows and sofa throws.

Finalist: Anne De Solene (Bedford, N.Y.), personalized tea towels.

Finalist: V Rugs & Home (Miami), decorative pillow.

Judges this season were: Jennifer Marks, Home Textiles Today editor-in-chief; Tracy Bulla, senior product editor from HTT sister publication Home Accents Today; Eryn Swanson, Accessory Merchandising senior editor; Dara Caponigro, Domino style director; Newell Turner, House Beautiful style director; Arlene Hirst, Metropolitan Home, articles senior editor, design and news; Mary Gerlach, Home Fashion & Furniture Trends associate editor; Warren Shoulberg, HFN editor-in-chief; and Wanda Jankowski, LDB Interior Textiles editor-in-chief.
