Pittsburgh — American Textile Co. has expanded its Salt Lake City production/shipping plant for its booming bed pillow business. The site opened in July 2007 at 55,000 square feet and has now doubled. The workforce has grown from 25 to 70 employees, said Randy Cowder, ATC general manager in Salt Lake City.
ATC only recently opened a plant in Dallas in support of the sleep pillow category. Earlier in 2007 ATC expanded its Duquesne, Pa. headquarters and opened a newer, larger showroom at 295 Fifth Ave. in New York.
"The growth of our presence and capabilities in Salt Lake means we can better serve our customers' needs throughout the United States," said Jack Ouellette, president and ceo of ATC. "We are committed to increasing our already strong presence in the bedding industry."
