Heimtextil Offers 'More' than Ever

By Carole Sloan -- Home Textiles Today, 12/17/2007

Frankfurt, Germany— Heimtextil 2008 will put new focus on premium fabric and home textiles products under the umbrella term “More.”

Under the banner “More Clarity,” bed, bath and table linens with a classic flavor will be showcased in Hall 9.1 in limited editions from producers such as Schlossberg Textil, Christian Fischbacher, Curt Bauer and Monterol.

“More Style” in Hall 9.2 will feature more trendy producers including Move, Cawo Textil, Vossen and licensees of Joop!, Sisley, Mexx and Esprit.

“More Living,” a banner for cutting-edge design and quality, will debut in Hall 3.1 showing premium suppliers from the window, upholstery and floor segments.

As part of the More Living area, Heimtextil will spotlight the Outside In showcase, which features urban furnishing concepts in a luxury town villa offering new perspectives on the themes of Sleeping, Living and Dining.

Meanwhile in a major trend, Heimtextil will continue to expand its emphasis on the contract side of the home textiles and home fabrics businesses by including a listing of more than 400 suppliers to this burgeoning segment of the market.

The banner “Contract Creations” will be used to identify these suppliers.

The Contact Contract Online Forum, initiated in 2007 to facilitate communication and making appointments, will be available again for the 2008 event.

As part of the emphasis on upscale furnishings for hotels, high end suppliers from Asia will be featured for the first time in Hall 6.0 under the banner “Contract Vision.” In addition to interior decoration textiles, accessories, small pieces of furniture and lighting will be featured.

Looking toward the next generation of designers, the Young Contract Creations Award will be presented for the first time to honor outstanding furniture textile projects from young designers.

Competence Square in Hall 4.0 will debut as a venue for furniture fabrics and decorative textiles highlighting the diversity that is available today in terms of both quality and function.

Bathroom textiles will be featured in the exclusive Swarovski luxury bathroom made by Kludi in cooperation with the design team from Bisazza and Hoesch in Hall 9.3.

This Heimtextil will continue the Asian Vision presentation initiated in 2007 with the premium segment in Halls 6.1 and 10.2. The individual exhibitors in Asian Selection will be in Halls 6.2 and 10.1, and Asian Feeling, the joint presentation stands, will be in Halls 6.3 and 10.0.

The noted international materials library Material ConneXion will be housed in Hall 9.1.
