Iconix Brands Taps Marcum for Board
Brand management company Iconix Brand Group has appointed James Marcum to its board of directors.
Marcum is a partner and operating director of Tri-Artisan Capital Partners, a merchant banking firm, as well as chairman and chief strategic officer of Enabl-u Technologies, an interactive training and data management supplier.
Marcum also has retail experience, having served as an executive at Ultimate Electronics, Hollywood Entertainment Corp., Lids, Inc., Stage Stores and Melville Corp.
Iconix recently acquired Official Pillowtex which owns home textiles brands Cannon, Charisma, Fieldcrest, and Royal Velvet.
Kas Names Gray to Oversee Northeast Region
Kas Rugs has added Joe Gray to its management team, appointing him territory sales manager to a region in the Northeast.
Gray is assigned to the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. metro areas. He reports to Brandon Culpepper, national sales manager.
Gray has worked in the rug industry for several years. Most recently, he was a sales manager with Banilivy Rugs. Prior to that, he worked as a retail buyer.
"I welcome Joe to Kas" said Rao Yarlagadda, company president. "He brings a wealth of industry experience and will make a great addition to our team."
Veratex Taps Kirschbaum
Veratex has hired Dick Kirschbaum as vp of sales for the Atlantic Coast area.
Kirschbaum, who reports to company vp Dale Talbert, will work out of the company's New York office. Sales reps Buddy Gordon and Liz Geise report to Kirschbaum.
"We're happy to have him on board," said Talbert. "I've worked with Dick for many years and feel he's going to add a real spark to our business."
Renaissance America Promotes Selfer
Global sourcing, marketing and branding company Renaissance America has promoted Eric Selfer to vp of sales and marketing.
Selfer will work with the company's sales staff in North America and abroad. He will continue to report to Charles Schlang, ceo.
Selfer joined Renaissance three years ago as a sales executive, then was promoted to director of sales and marketing. Prior to that, he was an account executive for Global Crossings, an IT provider.
Smith Replaces Lowe at Unifi
Polyester and nylon yarn producer Unifi has named Ronald Smith has cfo, replacing William Lowe, who has left the company.
Smith was recently named the Unifi vp of finance and treasurer. He joined the company in 1994 from accounting firm Ernst and Young.
