CHF Debuts Soft Modern

Window Treatments, Bath Lines Expand

By Carole Sloan -- Home Textiles Today, 8/7/2007

At the New York Market — Soft Modern, a collection of four different approaches to modern design, each within a color statement, highlights the bedding introductions at CHF Industries — while metallics make a major fashion statement in bath, especially accessories.

The Soft Modern group uses the four color statements in three different interpretations: a solid color top of bed, a contemporary graphic print, and a quilt treatment. Each of the four color families has a different interpretation from the others. Color blocking is an important design element, and each color statement has a different version of that.

Sets in Soft Modern retail from $79 to $199.

Back to Cool heralds the reemergence of preppy looks in design, color and pattern with Madras looks and fun prints highlighted in a bedding series.

A collection of bed-in-a-bag designs, It's All in the Bag, can be developed from six-piece sets to 24-piece packages in faux silk, a soft modern print on a jacquard, a tropical, and a contemporary. The group can be purchased in three ways: factory direct, port or replenishment.

In bath, CHF has relaunched its Stuffits concept, now offering the shower curtains with storage pockets in different sizes for different purposes. In addition to the clear vinyl, there are two printed photo looks.

Metallics play a major fashion role with 11 metallic finishes featured in accessories, as well as coordinating shower curtains. The metallics include white, silver, faux crystal, gold, bronze and pewter.

Towels act as a fashion niche with coordinate statements including botanicals; Soiree, a classic stripe and damask; animal skins; and Paisley Park, with embellished treatments and a zigzag and paisley design.

Fashion towels are featured in turquoises, blues, greens, browns and reds.

New fashion statements in the company's major window introductions include asymmetrical engineered embroidered effects on faux silk, a new spin on netting and asymmetrical pleating.

The company's growing window hardware collection features new finishes.
